StarRupture Beginner Guide: 8 Tips For Your First Base

New to StarRupture? I spent 20 hours making beginner mistakes so you don't have to. Here's exactly what to build first and which corporation to unlock.

Don't Make My First-Hour Mistakes

I died 4 times in my first hour because I prioritized the wrong things. Weapons? Useless without ammo. Exploration? Deadly without the Map. Here's what actually works.

Your only goal in the first 30 minutes: build a functioning production loop before the Rupture cycle kills you.

How To Choose Your First Base Location

Look for flat terrain with Iron AND Titanium ore visible within 50 meters. I wasted an hour building near Iron only to realize Titanium was a 3-minute walk away.

Avoid anomalies and creature spawn points. My second base got destroyed because I built too close to a Vermin nest. Safe = productive.

What To Craft First (Exact Order)

I tested multiple build orders. This sequence gets you producing fastest:

Skip weapons entirely until you have this loop running. A solid production foundation beats scrounging for components every time.

  • 1. Ore Extractor - Place on Iron deposit immediately
  • 2. Smelter - Converts ore to bars (your bottleneck)
  • 3. Storage Container - Prevents losing items on death
  • 4. Solar Panel V1 - Passive power, no fuel needed

Which Corporation To Unlock First

Moon Energy Level 1. No debate. The Recipe Station unlocks crafting paths that define your entire progression.

I made the mistake of rushing Griffith Blue for weapons first. Wasted 2 hours exporting items I could have used for better production.
