StarRupture Rupture Cycle: How The 30-Minute Timer Works
The Rupture cycle killed me 6 times before I understood it. Here's exactly when to explore, when to hide, and how to use the timer to your advantage.
How The 30-Minute Rupture Cycle Works
Every 30 minutes, a Rupture event hits. I died 6 times before I understood this cycle. Now I plan every expedition around it.
The cycle has three phases: Safe Window (minutes 0-20), Warning Phase (minutes 20-25), and Rupture Event (minutes 25-30). Memorize these.
When To Explore (Safe Window: Minutes 0-20)
Right after a Rupture ends, you have about 20 minutes of relative safety. Enemy spawns are reset, visibility is good, and you can travel far.
I use this window for blueprint runs or distant resource deposits. Rule of thumb: if it takes more than 10 minutes to reach, wait for the next cycle.
The Warning Phase (Minutes 20-25)
At the 20-minute mark, environmental warnings start. Sky changes, sounds shift. This is your "head back to base" signal.
I learned the hard way: getting caught 2 minutes from base during a Rupture means losing your entire inventory. Not worth it.
How To Use Rupture Downtime Productively
Your base production continues during Rupture. I use the 5-minute downtime for: sorting inventory, planning next exports, checking the ROI Calculator.
Pro tip: Rupture resets certain spawns. Some players intentionally trigger runs right after Rupture for fresh resource nodes.
