How Ore Quality Tiers Work (The Math)
Ore has three quality tiers: Impure, Pure, and Super Pure. Each tier multiplies your smelter output.
The difference is massive: Super Pure produces 4x more bars than Impure from the same smelt cycle. Same time, 4x output.
Where To Find Each Quality Tier
Quality is tied to deposit location, not depth or time. The Map shows quality indicators after you unlock it (Moon Energy Level 3).
Higher quality = more dangerous areas. Super Pure deposits are usually guarded or far from spawn. Plan accordingly.
When To Prioritize Quality (By Game Stage)
Early game: Use whatever ore is nearby. Travel time to quality deposits often exceeds the output benefit.
Mid game: Start routing extractors to Pure deposits. The 2x output compounds fast over a few hours.
Late game: Super Pure becomes essential. Rail networks make distance irrelevant—only quality matters.
